Intern Reagan Reflects on her Summer in Radio
Hello everyone!
It's Intern Reagan and I want to start by saying how truly grateful I am for all of the support and encouragement I have received from all of you throughout the last couple of months. KHAK has been in my life for as long as I can remember and brought me so much joy over the course of my lifetime. This internship has been an honor and it's saddening to part ways with. I would love to share some of my favorite experiences.
Getting the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience the media world has opened my eyes to all aspects of business for a future career. Brain and Courtlin have shown me what it looks like to balance hard work and enjoyment in a professional career. I have learned many behind-the-scenes techniques that I was not aware happened through the radio station. Being able to not only view but experience and help create the radio station that means so much to people in Iowa has been surreal.
I was also given the privilege to participate in events at the Great Jones County Fair which holds a special place in my heart. Throwing out t-shirts, introducing the artists on stage, and walking throughout the fair being recognized as Intern Reagan brought a smile to my face. Being allowed to be in Town Square Media meetings was a highlight of my experience seeing the backend of the work. As a listener myself, Listener Lunch was a delight to meet and talk to people who know the station as well as we do and support every day.
Lastly, I want to emphasize a final thank you to Brain and Courtlin who have taught me so much throughout the summer not only about the business world but as a person as well. It has been a blessing and privilege to work alongside two of the hardest-working people that I know. They have left an impact on me that I will forever take with me. The enjoyment that two people can bring to people through radio is something that all of you know. Growing a relationship with them expands the joy that Brain and Courtlin bring is so much more than a radio station.
I will always be grateful for this experience and will use the skills I have learned to better myself in the future!
Forever grateful,
Intern Reagan Schneiter
