Illinois Cops Bracing for Weed-Palooza Countdown to 2020

High times are coming to the land of Lincoln when possession and use of personal amounts of recreational marijuana becomes legalized on January 1, 2020.

But the cops are ready to uphold the laws that will govern exactly what you can and cannot get away with.

An informative Facebook post from the Illinois State Police outlines the "do's and don'ts" of pot possession for residents (and for those Iowans just passing through..stay tuned for specific news from Illinois State Police that applies specifically to you.)

Some additional rules you want to be aware of include laws that a person may not use pot near anyone who is less than 21 years old. And you sure don't want to be caught driving while high.

For those who choose to consume and partake, it seems that cops are simply offering a bit of common sense that will help keep you and others out of harm's way.
