Residents of Linn County continue to have great luck when it comes to scratch tickets from the Iowa Lottery. Three different people from the Cedar Rapids metro have now combined to win more than $626,000 with scratch tickets, THIS MONTH.

The latest winners are Kristin Kuehl of Hiawatha, who won the top prize available with 'Aces High.' Kristin claimed $250,000 last week with a ticket she purchased at the BP at 975 Robins Road in Hiawatha. A $20 scratch game, 'Aces High' has odds of 1 in 2.86. According to the Iowa Lottery website, four of eighteen $250,000 prizes have not yet been claimed.

Dixie Thornton of Cedar Rapids also cashed in the top prize available last week, in a different game. She won $100,000 playing 'Xtreme Winnings.' Dixie grabbed that ticket at the Hills Jiffy Mart at 1904 Mount Vernon Road S.E. in Cedar Rapids. A $10 scratch game, 'Xtreme Winnings' also has odds of 1 in 2.86. The Iowa Lottery says five of the eight $100,000 prizes have not yet been won.

Kristin and Dixie join Don Burd of Hiawatha as big winners from the metro area this month. Burd won $276,296 with the Extreme Green Progressive Instaplay on Sunday, October 4. He turned in the winning ticket the next day.
