Here’s The Most Popular Dog Names of 2020

Does your dog have a unique name? Or do they have a classic one like from the movies? Or maybe your pup is named after your favorite food. No matter the name, there's always some dog names that are more popular than others.

Personally, I had my dog's name picked out since middle school. And for me, that was 2007/8. Who was popular around then? Nelly and Nelly Furtado. I fell in love with the name and knew when I grew up that was going to be my dog. Well, 13 years later, I did just that.

But Nelly didn't make the list of 2020s most popular dog names. So what names topped the list? Well according to dog DNA company EmbarkVet, here were the top names for pups in 2020.

The Top 10 Most Popular Female Dog Names of 2020:

1. Luna
2. Daisy
3. Bella
4. Lucy
5. Penny
6. Stella
7. Lola
8. Piper
9. Ruby
10. Willow

So that's the ladies, now for the dudes.

The Top 10 Most Popular Male Dog Names of 2020:

1. Cooper
2. Milo
3. Finn
4. Charlie
5. Tucker
6. Ollie
7. Bear
8. Max
9. Loki
10. Moose

What's funny about these dog names is a lot of them topped the lists for most popular baby names as well. Luna grew a lot in popularity in 2020 and was one of the top girl names.
