A Local Bookstore Dedicated to Romance Novels is Moving to Cedar Rapids

"Iowa's first romance bookstore" has relocated to Cedar Rapids, and they're just about ready to begin welcoming customers! Let us introduce you to HEA Book Boutique.

About HEA Book Boutique

HEA Book Boutique was founded by "Chief Book Babe" Jenn Draper back in 2023. It got its start as a pop-up bookstore, but it quickly moved into its own storefront at 1026 7th Ave in Marion. That's where the business remained until December 23rd, 2025, when they closed up shop to relocate to a brand new storefront in Cedar Rapids. Jenn made the official relocation announcement on social media back in August.

What Do They Offer?

"WE ONLY CARRY ROMANCE BOOKS"

That's the phrase that was plastered on the front window of HEA Book Boutique's window in Marion, so that should give you a pretty good idea of what they sell! The official press release reads:

"HEA Book Boutique was one of the first 25 romance bookstores in the nation, and the first store in Iowa dedicated solely to the romance genre, when they opened their doors in October 2023."

The bookstore offers more than 1,300 titles, including best sellers, new releases, and books from indie authors, all of which fall into the romance genre. Plus, they have all sorts of "bookish goodies," such as bookmarks, stickers, earrings, candles, book sleeves, and more.

As far as events go, HEA Book Boutique hosts book clubs, book swaps, readings/book signings with authors, and other gatherings for their community of readers. You can check out the events tab on their website HERE for more information.

The New Location & Grand Opening

HEA Book Boutique's new storefront is located at 588 Boyson Rd NE in Cedar Rapids. It's in the same strip of buildings as Casey's, Indulge Sun Spa & Hair Studio, and Pregame Brew and Chew (formerly Mas Margaritas).

The new HEA Book Boutique will host a grand reopening this Saturday, January 10th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a book signing from author Harloe Rae from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. And, you'll probably want to arrive early, because "the first 50 people through the door will receive swag bags, and there will be giveaways throughout the day. One lucky reader to win books for a year!"
