For the third time this week, we have to tell you about an early exit from the Iowa football team. James Daniels, Iowa's center and an offensive line stalwart, is moving on to the NFL. The announcement came this morning:

This dude will definitely be missed. Daniels, 6'4" and 295 pounds, played in 12 games this season and acted as a captain of the offensive line. He saw a ton of action during his three seasons in Iowa City. He's athletic too, able to get downfield and make blocks if the need arose. Good luck, James Daniels, but doggone it we're going to miss you too.

On Wednesday, Iowa cornerback Josh Jackson announced he would forego his senior season to set his sights on the NFL. Iowa backup quarterback Tyler Wiegers also announced this week that he was transferring for his senior season.

If you run into Kirk Ferentz and see him doing this, you'll understand after the week he's had. I must admit I'm doing the same thing.
