Last night was a dream come true for Shueyville, Iowa native Hailey Whitters! The 29-year-old got to play the legendary Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday, something she's aspired to do for about 15 years.

Hailey made the big announcement on social media on July 22nd, writing:

"When I was fifteen years old, I stood backstage and told Little Jimmie Dickens I would play that stage someday. Throughout the years there have assuredly been moments of self-doubt where I truly questioned whether or not my Opry dream would ever become a reality... and I am so humbled and so honored to say that it will be in two weeks.

Thank you to the Opry for giving me the opportunity to sing my songs in that sacred circle ... and for allowing me to go back in time and tell 15 yr old Hailey, “you did it.” Truly in awe."

The singer and songwriter finally had her chance to shine last night, which she was obviously very excited about. She prepared for the concert by performing on the Nashville radio show “Coffee, Country and Cody.”

AMAZING! As soon as one arrives, we will have it for you here.

Congratulations on all your success, Hailey! You deserve every bit of it! :)
