Sunday marks the first meeting of the season between the top two teams in the NFC North, Minnesota and Green Bay. I have some news that will make fans of both franchises happy, along with a new addition to Minnesota's next stadium.

I checked two different sources this morning, including my satellite programming guide and panicked a bit. According to what I was seeing the Sunday afternoon game between the two teams, a 3:25 kickoff, wasn't going to be on Fox 28. It was showing Eastern Iowans would see the San Francisco-Seattle game. WHAT?! I'm happy to report that was simply an error. The Minnesota-Green Bay game, and make no mistake it is a BIG match up, will indeed be televised locally. Other than the league's two unbeaten teams, Carolina and New England, Minnesota's five-game winning streak is the longest in the league. Minnesota tries to stay unbeaten in their division and with a win would take a two-game lead over Green Bay, who has lost three straight.

Sunday's game is also the final meeting between the two teams at TCF Bank Stadium, also home to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Minnesota franchise opens the new $1.1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium next summer. Here's what the new stadium will look like:

Minnesota also announced yesterday the plaza of the new stadium will feature the Legacy Ship, complete with smoke effects and a dragon head 43-feet in the air. The ship's sail will be a 55-foot tall curved LED video board that in total will be 2,000 square feet. I haven't been to a game in Minnesota for several years, but next year I definitely want to get back.

We still have some seats left on the bus to the two teams season finale January 3 in Green Bay. Details on that trip are available here.
