Lower prices for oil are helping push down prices for gasoline and Triple A says even lower prices may be coming this year.

The average price for regular unleaded gas in Iowa fell by 3 cents last week to $2.40 per gallon average.

Across the Nation, Los Angeles had the most expensive gas among cities surveyed in the Lower 48 states at $3.29. Charleston, S.C., had the cheapest at $2.11.

What's helping keep the prices lower? Gasoline production is outpacing the demand and driving gas prices lower. Domestic oil production remains at an all-time high, which also helps keep a lid on the price of oil and gasoline.
