C.J. Beathard has signed his first NFL contract. The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they have signed the former Iowa quarterback to a 4-year deal.
Beathard was one of San Fran's two third round draft picks and becomes the ninth rookie to sign with the team following the NFL Draft. The 23-year-old joins quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Matt Barkley on the 49er roster.
Beathard threw for over 5,500 yards and 40 touchdowns in 41 career games at Iowa.
