My food palate when I was a kid wasn't exactly extensive. I grew up on a farm so we ate your typical meat and potato meals. Yes, we had plenty of vegetables growing up, but nothing that wasn't grown in a field or in our garden. It's funny how your taste in food changes as you get older. That child on the farm used to hate broccoli. Now, I love it! I even order when out to eat at restaurants. A recent survey looked at the most popular foods we hated as a child, but now love as an adult.

Here is the list of foods we hated as a kid but love now!

  1. Asparagus
  2. Brussel Sprouts
  3. Broccoli
  4. Spinach
  5. Green Beans
  6. Fish
  7. Avocados
  8. Eggs
  9. Greek Yogurt
  10. Bacon

Yes, the top five foods on the list are vegetables. I still haven't got on team asparagus yet. To be honest, I don't like brussel sprouts either. My wife grew up eating both, so she fixes them from time to time. I don't mind a spinach salad, but never cooked. And I really enjoy every thing else on the list!

I really wasn't a picky eater as a kid. That title went to my younger brother. I remember the thing that used to just kill my dad was my brother never wanted to eat dinner when we had hamburgers. Mind you, my dad feed Angus cattle and we had fresh beef whenever we liked! My brother would often state that he only wanted a hamburger from McDonalds. Ouch.
