98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Rod Nurre

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Rod Nurre, who was nominated by Ann Nurre! The entry reads:

"We are nominating Rod Nurre of the Greeley Rural Fire Department. Rod has served 40-years fighting fires and saving lives. He has taken on many extra roles over the years, from flipping pancakes and steak for fundraisers, to volunteering as the general contractor when the new fire station was built in 2012. Rod has dedicated countless hours to the Greeley community, the place he takes pride in and calls home. Congratulations to Rod Nurre on his retirement in June after 40-years of service!"
