98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Nikki White

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Nikki White, who was nominated by Kaila Bumgarner! The entry reads:

"Nikki started out many years ago as a dental assistant, but always knew that wasn't where her calling was. She started as a paramedic for Waterloo in 2015 and knew she was where she was supposed to be. She loves Myrtle Beach, so she moved and worked as a paramedic in South Carolina, but she was pulled back to Iowa. During the pandemic, she went to the southern states to help with the COVID outbreak. Being a single mom for many years, and now a grandma, she works for Waverly Ambulance, as well as running a small business called Pink Luna. She always puts everyone else before herself. She helps with as much as she can without letting you know she is struggling sometimes, too. She is a great person and a great friend."
