The city of Marion has announced that for the first time in nearly four years, a parade is being planned through the streets of Uptown Marion. No, it won't be the return of the Swamp Fox Festival. Instead, the parade will be just one of several activities in the city during the month of September in a new celebration called "Fall Into Marion."

According to a press release from the city of Marion, the parade will take place on Saturday, September 9th at 10 a.m. The theme of the parade will be a celebration of all things fall. Both the Marion and Linn-Mar High School marching bands will be participating in the event. Floats are encouraged and prizes will be handed out in a number of categories. Registration for the parade is $45, but free for any non-profit organization. The limit on entries will be 125 and the deadline to register is Friday, September 1st. You can sign up for the parade HERE. Here is a picture of the last Marion fall parade I drove the K-HAWK truck in!
