The decision on whether Drew Ott gets to wear an Iowa uniform again now lies in the hands of the NCAA. The University of Iowa released a statement Monday announcing that the sports governing body is now reviewing Ott's case for a medical hardship exemption. No timetable was given on a possible decision.

Ott doesn't meet one requirement for the medical hardship. He played in more than 30 percent of Iowa's games in 2015. But Iowa officials argue that Ott only played two FULL games, Illinois State and Wisconsin, and was limited to parts of just four others due to injuries.

Ott was at the NFL combine in Indianapolis over the weekend. He interviewed with teams but did not participate in any drills as he recovers from reconstructive left elbow surgery and right knee surgery. Ott said that he expects to hear news in a couple of weeks.
