We are getting closer and closer to the end of the year, so I'm getting a little more picky with my movie choices. This week I picked a popular flick from 1980, and it did not disappoint!

"The Blues Brothers" is one of those movies that I've heard people reference and talk about for a long time, but I never really had a desire to see it. I was actually supposed to watch "Fried Green Tomatoes" this weekend, but when I sat down to watch it I found out that Netflix removed it! This was the only other movie on my list that is on Netflix right now, and I wasn't really excited to watch it. I'm really glad I did, though, because I absolutely loved it!

First of all, I could not BELIEVE all the famous musicians they threw in this movie! Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, AND James Brown? Fantastic! I definitely was not expecting that, and I also didn't expect there to be random musical numbers thrown in. Honestly, this movie wasn't anything like I expected it to be, and that's a good thing!

My favorite scene is probably the one where the Blues brothers are trying to get one of the band members back on their "mission from God," and they go to the restaurant that he works at and act like total jerks until he agrees to come back. Their offensive behavior totally cracked me up, I loved it so much. Another one of my favorites has to be the church scene with James Brown in the beginning. When Jake started doing back flips, I lost it! And, like I said before, I also really enjoyed all of the musical numbers, especially the one at the very end when they play "Jailhouse Rock" at the jail as prisoners. I thought that was a perfect ending, because you knew they couldn't escape the cops forever. All of those chase scenes were so ridiculous, but so entertaining.

So basically, I'm hoping one day to have the chill, nothing bothers me attitude that Jake and Elwood have. It's my new life goal.

Only 11 movies left! If you have any classic movie suggestions for me, leave them in the comments!
