This past week I checked another movie off of my list, and it is NOTHING like any of the other movies I've watched so far this year!

I wasn't really feeling a romance or a comedy, so I decided to go with something a little darker... or a lot darker - The Silence of the Lambs (1991).

Other than the fact that the movie has to do with cannibalism, I really didn't know what the movie was about when I chose it. I'm not into scary movies at all, but I figured this one was more of a creepy thriller than a full-blown horror flick. I liked that it wasn't super gory.

Anthony Hopkins was incredible as Hannibal Lecter, and I like Jodie Foster as well, but her accent drives me a little bit nuts. I think the creepiest character had to be Buffalo Bill. I wish we could've had a little more insight into his background to find out why he was so screwed up. The scene where Clarice was in the basement in the dark trying to find him was SO nerve-wracking, I was actually peeking through my fingers like a little kid. I like that the movie ended with Hannibal being out in the world. That was a good set-up for a sequel.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie and all the psychological aspects. Not a bad pick!
