Courtlin Goes to Des Moines for the First Time!

Yesterday I ventured over to Des Moines for St. Patrick's Day, and I really really liked it!

My friends are touring with their band, and they were playing at a venue in downtown Des Moines yesterday, so I decided to make the two hour trek over there to check out the city! I was only there for a couple of hours, but I can tell you that I will be heading back over there when it gets a little warmer. The first thing we noticed when we were approaching the city was this GIANT building in the distance that looked like a palace or something you would see in like, Egypt or India. Turns out it was the Iowa Capitol building. I would definitely like to see that up close. We also got a glimpse of the Blank Park Zoo, the Wells Fargo Arena, the Pedestrian Bridge, and a little snippet of the downtown scene. I hope to see more next time I go!
