A Clarksville man faces a list of charges after he led authorities on a high-speed chase on his motorcycle.
The incident began just before 9:30 pm Wednesday (June 5), when a Bremer County Deputy tried to pull over a motorcyclist for a speeding violation. The cycle was clocked at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone, headed north on Highway 218, west of Waverly.
The motorcyclist refused to pull over, and a pursuit began, reaching speeds of nearly 130 mph (127 mph).
The cycle fled west on County Road C-33 into Butler County, continuing into the Clarksville city limits, where the chase ended.
The driver, 20-year-old Dylan Jacobs of Clarksville, was then taken into custody on charges of Eluding, Excessive Speed, Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device, and Violation of the Conditions of his Restricted License.
