Chris Stapleton Releases Edgy ‘Second One to Know’ [Listen]
The hits just keep on coming! Chris Stapleton is being generous with fans by sharing new music off his upcoming album From A Room: Volume 1 ahead of its release, offering up a track called "Second One to Know."
It's a rock-infused number about not wanting the love in a relationship to get stale. After debuting the song live on stage at the 2017 ACM Awards, Stapleton is now sharing the audio version of "Second One to Know."
The song really allows Stapleton to show off his incredible guitar skills while his voice also shines, crooning out lyrics like, "Don’t put my love on your back burner / Never let anything that hot get cold / And if you ever change your mind / Wanna leave my love behind / Just let me be the second one to know."
Other titles he's shared from the album includes the first single "Either Way," the intriguing "Broken Halos" and a poignant cover of "Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning," serving as an honorable rendition of the chart-topping Willie Nelson song. Stapleton announced in April of 2017 that he was creating a double album that will be released in two parts. Volume 1 drops on May 5, while Volume 2 will debut later in the year.
The "Parachute" singer is currently on the road on his 2017 All-American Road Show Tour that kicked off in March and keeps the country superstar busy through the summer. Due to popular demand, Stapleton extended the tour into August, when it will conclude in Gilford, N.H. on Aug. 25. Rising stars Brothers Osborne, Margo Price, Anderson East, Brent Cobb and Lucie Silvas also join him on the road as opening acts.
