Another restaurant in Cedar Rapids will be shutting its doors in the very near future.

Acapulco Seafood & Grill just opened its doors back in early May at 2925 Williams Pkwy SW, the former home of Vivian's Soul Food. After about three months in business, the restaurant revealed in the Cedar Rapids Area Foodies group on Facebook yesterday (August 7th) that they will be closing their doors this week. The post reads:

"We wanted to let everyone know…unfortunately as a small business, you tend to run into struggles. You have to decide what’s best for the family and what’s best for everyone else.

We have ultimately decided that it’s in our best interest to close. Our last day will be Friday. We appreciate all of our customers, our friends and anyone who was willing to give us a try."

Acapulco Seafood & Grill specializes in seafood, serving a variety of dishes involving shrimp, tilapia, red snapper, crab, scallops, oysters, and more. The menu also includes items like burritos, ceviche, fajitas, nachos, tacos, and enchiladas. If you want to check out the restaurant before it closes on Friday, the post goes on to say:

"...we will be selling all food and liquor 50% off starting tomorrow. Again, thank you Cedar Rapids and everyone in the area that tried us out. We appreciate each and every one of you."

There have been several restaurant closures in Cedar Rapids over the course of the last month or so, including Chophouse Downtown, the downtown Barrel House, Whiskey Jo's, and Mezcal Tequila Cocina. But, there have also been some restaurant openings, like 4 Hermanos on 1st Ave and Mi Lindo Vallarta in Downtown Cedar Rapids! You can check out more openings from 2024 HERE.
