Iowa's News Now reports that amid the increasing Coronavirus threat, the Cedar Rapids Public Library will close all its branches until further notice.

Starting today, Monday, March 16th, they will close as a precaution to help slow or prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Due dates will be adjusted so people can keep all materials from the library until April 16th. Digital resources remain available from the library including Cloud Library, Freegal, Hoopla, Kanopy, Lynda, and Overdrive.

Additionally, Cedar Rapids Transit states that city bus service will continue,  but as a measure to decrease interaction between passengers and drivers, fares will be suspended. No fares will be charged or collected at this time for bus passengers.

Passengers are being asked to limit capacity on each bus. They are also being encouraged to maintain as much distance between themselves and others, minimum six feet apart if possible, on buses and at stops.
