Caitlin Clark Injury Update: When Will She Be Back on the Court?
You knew the Indiana Fever would struggle with Caitlin Clark out of the lineup. Clark missed her fifth straight game last night as Indiana lost to the Atlanta Dream.
With last night's loss to Atlanta, USA Today reports the Fever fall to 4-5 on the season and 2-3 with Caitlin Clark out of the lineup. Indiana has been hit hard by injuries early this season, with both Clark and Sophie Cunningham missing significant time.
Why Has Caitlin Clark Been Sidelined?
Clark suffered a left quad strain sometime during the game against the New York Liberty back on May 24th. An MRI confirmed the strain. Clark's original timetable was a two-week absence. She was re-evaluated this past weekend and was allowed to begin practicing on a limited basis, according to the Indy Star.
The Indy Star reports that Fever head coach Steph White stated that Clark is ready to "start ramping back up." White noted that Clark has been allowed to start practicing again, but is not being allowed to do everything. White stated that "we're going to be smart, we're going to be cautious."
When Will Caitlin Clark Return to the Fever Lineup?
With Clark missing Tuesday night's game against Atlanta, all eyes are now on this weekend's game. The Fever play the New York Liberty on Saturday. Could Clark see the court again? We'll have to wait for updates from the team later this week. My guess? Don't bet on it. The Fever want Clark 100% healthy for the rest of the season and a long playoff run.
