Caitlin Clark Injured Late in Fever Win Over Connecticut
On Tuesday, the WNBA announced a stacked field for the 3-point contest at the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend in Indianapolis. Headlining the competition was Caitlin Clark. Who wouldn't want to see Clark go for the win in front of her home crowd? Now, it appears all of that is in jeopardy due to a new injury Clark suffered on Tuesday night.
Caitlin Clark and the Fever were in Connecticut to take on the Sun Tuesday night. The Fever were in the midst of pulling out a hard-fought 85-77 win when Clark suffered her latest injury. With seconds to play in the 4th quarter, IndyStar.com reports that Clark left the game, grabbing the top of her right leg, wincing in pain.
Clark clearly knows that something is wrong. She immediately put a towel over her face and could be seen tearing up on the sidelines. IndyStar.com reports that when Fever coach Stephanie White was asked about Clark after the game, she stated, "No update, just felt a little something in her groin, so we'll get it evaluated and see what happens from there."
Clark had recently returned to the Indiana lineup after missing time with a left groin injury. She has missed a total of 10 games this season for the Fever. Indiana is in action again tonight against the New York Liberty. I can't imagine Caitlin will play in this game, or sadly, the All-Star game this weekend. A frustrating season continues.
