Caitlin Clark Sidelined Again After Suffering New Injury
Houston, we have a problem. Actually, Indiana, we have a problem. A Caitlin Clark problem.
ESPN is reporting that Caitlin Clark is about to miss more time due to injuries. The Indiana Fever star will not be in the lineup tonight when Indiana takes on the Los Angeles Sparks. The Fever announced that Clark is dealing with a left groin injury.
This is all relatively new territory for Clark. She never missed a game during her career at Iowa. She played every game of her rookie year in the WNBA. But Clark missed five games this season with a quad injury and returned to the Fever lineup just over a week ago, according to ESPN. The Fever went 3.2 without Clark in the lineup.
In Clark's return, she helped the Fever hand the New York Liberty its first loss of the season, hitting seven three-point shots and putting up 32 points, according to ESPN. But since then, Clark has clearly been struggling. She has hit just 1 of her last 23 three-point attempts, and the Fever have dropped both of those games.
ESPN reports that after tonight's game at home against LA, they travel to Dallas on Friday to take on the Wings. After that, the Fever are off for five days. I can't see Clark playing in Dallas either. The lingering injuries have to be a concern for the Fever. They need Caitlin Clark healthy to make a run to the playoffs and to challenge for a WNBA title.
