At a Keith Urban show in Moline several years ago, fans got to ask Keith questions during the meet and greet. Someone asked him what was a song on the radio right now that he wishes he had written. Without hesitating, he said 'Homeboy' by Eric Church. I filed that info away and several days later discovered Eric's album 'Chief'. I remember listening to it on my way to a remote in Iowa City and thinking to myself, this guy is going to change country music. And the Chief has delivered.

Eric Church plays the iWireless Center in Moline tonight. No opener. Just three hours of his music. One-half acoustic, the other half with his hard charging band. I own all of Eric's albums so picking five favorites is a tough task. And sorry Keith. 'Homeboy' isn't in there.

5. 'Lightning' - Sinners Like Me - Can't wait to see if he plays this one during the acoustic set. This ballad tells the tale of a death row inmate pondering his upcoming judgment. Eric wrote the song after watching the movie 'The Green Mile'.

4. 'Drink In My Hand' - Chief - The ultimate party song about having a cold drink in your hand. No Eric Church song list is complete without this one!

3. 'Smoke A Little Smoke' - Carolina - Another party song about drinking and smoking. Just what is being smoked...well I'll leave that up to you.

2. 'These Boots' - Carolina - You'll know this song is beginning when concertgoers begin holding their boots in the air tonight. If only boots could talk, the stories they could tell.

1. 'Give Me Back My Hometown' - The Outsiders - Loved it the first time I heard it, and it still grabs me every time I play it. Plus, the video is cool and confusing and features a cameo from a Breaking Bad character. Top notch Church.
