I had my new iPhone for about 5 whole days before disaster struck. I have no one to blame but myself for what happened. While we were at listener lunch on Tuesday, I was taking some pictures of the interior of Mellow Mushroom. I had just snapped a picture of Herky the Hawk and was headed back to our table when I lost my grip of my iPhone. The device launched into the air and landed on the floor beneath our table. I was stunned. When I picked up my phone I saw that my screen was cracked and shattered. I literally wanted to cry and throw up at the same time. I knew that an expensive repair bill was headed my way. And it was all my fault.

I've never cracked a smart phone screen before in my life. I've owned many, including an iPhone before this. Never had an issue. When I purchased this one last week, I purchased the optional insurance on the phone. But guess what it doesn't cover. Shattered screens due to user stupidity. The one thing I DID NOT purchase was a screen protector or a case. I didn't feel like paying what they wanted for one in the store we were at and was planning on ordering one from somewhere else. I waited too long. Now I'm looking at a screen replacement bill AND the cost of getting a protective case. Yes, my phone is useable. At least I still have that. Learn from my mistakes. Get that phone protected. Unless you enjoy watching things through a cracked window.
