Vinyl has been making a bit of a comeback for a few years now. Current artists are even releasing their new albums on vinyl. When I grew up, my mom and dad still had the records they listened to when they were a kid. My dad grew up a fan of The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean and Elvis. My mom was all about The Beatles. I listened to a few of them when I was young, but like most people my age graduated to cassette tapes and then CDs. This week I got a call from my parents who were getting rid of some old items in their house and asked me if I would like their record collections. Would I? You bet! But now what?

I'm not a big enough audio snob to suggest that the truest form of audio comes from vinyl recordings. I bought many CDs in my day, and enjoy streaming most of my music now. But there is just something about putting on a record. Hearing the initial pop and occasional hiss and then bam! Audio gold! I don't have a record player at home so my search has begun. I thought that I'd take this moment to ask any other fans of vinyl out there which way I should go. I've seen many advertised online and I'm wondering if I should get something with modern technology like bluetooth, or go with something more old school. Give me some feedback!

Either way I really excited to own some great vinyl albums of the past. For someone like me whose life revolves around music, it's a pretty great gift!
