The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is investigating three sightings of a black bear around Dubuque.

The bear was spotted in a back yard along Julien Dubuque Drive, which is near the Mississippi River. Park Rangers and Officers confirmed the set of tracks came from a black bear. The bear had walked all the way up to a back porch and stole a bowl full of jelly right out of a bird feeder. The empty bowls were found in a near by woods.

The DNR suggests people who live along the area where a black bear has been spotted should put feeders and food scraps away for a few days.
