Another Cedar Rapids Pool Opening This Month

Another place to cool off is opening in Cedar Rapids as summer heats up.

We told you back in March, the City of Cedar Rapids' plans to open up pools again for the summer. Noelridge Aquatic Center was the first to open up on Memorial Day weekend and it was packed with swimmers ready to jump in. They had huge lines and crowds throughout the entire weekend, as it was the only pool in the area open. Well, hopefully those lines will get a little smaller as more pools open throughout the area to take in swimmers.

What Cedar Rapids Area Pools are Open?

Speaking of more pools opening, another is set to do just that very soon. Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department has released plans to open up Bever Pool, located at 2700 Bever Ave SE in Cedar Rapids. Bever Pool is set to open its gates on Sunday, June 27. But, it won't be open all day. Bever Pool will only be open in the "afternoons from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for lap swim and water walking, and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for open swim through August 6." Swim lessons and evening swims will not take place at this time. If you're looking for swim lessons, evening swims or more activities, you'll want to visit Noelridge and Cherry Hill Aquatic Centers. How to Apply to be a Cedar Rapids Lifeguard?

Other pools in Jones and Ellis Park are looking to open around this time as well. Although, they are still looking for staff. The Parks and Recreation Department is still recruiting and needs "at least 140 lifeguards to operate all outdoor pools."
