Iowans Show Off Their Ink on National Tattoo Day 2025 [GALLERY]

Happy National Tattoo Day!

According to a new Google Trends map of the "most searched tattoo designs" in all 50 states over the past year, and the list is pretty basic. "Flowers" are #1 in 16 states, "names" are #1 in 13 states, "hearts" are #1 in 10 states, "roses" are #1 in seven states, and "crosses" are #1 in 4 states. Iowa is one of the 16 states who are on the digital hunt for flower tattoos, and I must admit, I've done a lot of searching for those over the years!

I got my very first tattoo on my 18th birthday as a gift from my then boyfriend, who was a couple of years older than me and already had several tattoos. What they say is true, you CAN'T get just one. So now, 16 years later, I have 12 total, and ideas for at least four more! Now if I could just come up with the money...

When it comes to tattoos, I'm willing to pay more for quality work. My last seven tattoos have been done by Kane Cook at Evolution Tattoo in Cedar Rapids, and he's worth every penny! Here are some of my favorites that he's done for me:
