‘Batman’ TV Series Celebrates 50th Anniversary

I love Batman. He is by far my favorite superhero. His tragic backstory, the fact he doesn't have any "super" powers other than his wealth and gadgets. We had the Michael Keaton Batman movies to kick things off before the series got a reboot courtesy of director Christopher Nolan and actor Christian Bale. But my first introduction to the character of Batman came on television. Today, 'Batman' the television series turns 50!

No, I'm not old enough to remember seeing in debut on TV, but I remember my brother and I coming home from school and seeing re-runs on in the afternoon on network TV. We loved it! Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin. The villains like The Joker, Catwoman and more. And who could forget the fight sequences! BAM! WHIFF! ZOOM!

It was campy and it was fun. For every incarnation of Batman, many will always see him as Adam West. In honor of the showing debuting on this day in 1966, find an episode and watch it today!
