Hawkeye fans have heard enough about players, especially quarterbacks, leaving the Iowa football program. Well, Iowa fans have a new quarterback to welcome to Iowa City as Iowa gets its first win in the transfer portal heading into 2025.

Hawk Central reports that former Auburn quarterback Hank Brown has chosen to attend the University of Iowa in 2025. The 6'4" quarterback was a three-star recruit in the class of 2023 and will have three years of eligibility remaining at Iowa. Hawk Central reports that he initially committed to Liberty, but followed head coach Hugh Freeze when he took the head coaching job at Auburn.

Over the past two seasons, Brown appeared in five games for the Tigers, throwing for 535 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions according to Hawk Central. Two of those games were starts for Auburn in the tough SEC conference.

Brown was recently in Iowa City for the Iowa vs. Iowa State Cy-Hawk basketball game. Hawk Central reports that Brown was impressed with the love that Iowa fans have for their sports. He also got to attend an Iowa football practice and came away "super impressed" with the way that head coach Kirk Ferentz and offensive coordinator Tim Lester worked with the team, according to Hawk Central. His commitment to Iowa came shortly after.

Brown's commitment gives Iowa another much-needed body in the quarterback room in 2025. Hawk Central reports that next season's QBs will include Brendan Sullivan, Jackson Stratton, Brown, and incoming freshmen Jimmy Sullivan, and Ryan Fitzgerald.
