The Chicks, formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, got their start as the band we know today back in 1995. Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer released their debut album Wide Open Spaces back in 1998, which gained them their first three number one hits. After that, the group sky rocketed to fame with 1999's Fly, 2002's Home, and 2006's Taking the Long Way. During that period, The Chicks won 13 Grammys, 10 CMA awards, 8 ACM awards, and countless other accolades.

The Chicks made their return to the spotlight after almost 14 years in 2020 with the release of their album Gaslighter. The group embarked on a headlining tour last year, and this spring they will be doing their very first Las Vegas residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino!

The Chicks will make their return to Iowa on Saturday, August 19th at 8 p.m. with opening act Ben Harper. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday, February 16th at 10 a.m. and will range from $60 to $125. The Iowa State Fair notes that iowastatefair.org and etix.com are the only official sites for online tickets for Iowa State Fair Grandstand concerts.
