Another eatery at NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids has decided to expand their offerings and move to a new space!
Back in January, Anh's Bread Therapy announced on social media that they would be ending their run at NewBo City Market in early March. A few days later, another update was given about the future of the eatery. Not only will Anh's Bread Therapy be moving to a new space, they will also be a bakery AND tea house!
According to an article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Anh's Bread Therapy is moving to 77 16th Ave SW in the Czech Village. It's the former home of Rustic Chic Boutique, right next to the old Sykora Bakery. Because of the number of great coffee shops already in the area, owner Anh Le says that she will NOT be serving coffee in the new space, just tea. There will even be tea ceremonies! A February 16th Facebook post reads:
"Growing up in a tea country and my family are all tea lovers, I am so thrilled and excited to spread that love to you. I've been travelling and sitting in some tea ceremonies over the years. I know I still have a lot to learn because with the love and passion is not just enough. I need more knowledge and improvement. On this trip back to Asia, I will stop by Tokyo and Taipei and visit tea houses and bakeries to get inspired for my tea house with the hope and determination to serve you my best."
Anh's Bread Therapy serves a wide variety of homemade bread and pastries, including coconut buns, cakes, cookies, kolaches, sourdough, shokupan, cinnamon rolls, and more. Not only is the food delicious (the bakery has a Google rating of 4.8/5 stars), it's also beautiful!
Anh's Bread Therapy's last day open at NewBo City Market is this Saturday, March 1st.They hope to open the new bakery and teahouse sometime in mid-April. For updates, you can check out the business' Facebook page HERE.
Anh's Bread Therapy is the third eatery at NewBo City Market to move out in recent months. The first business to announce their relocation was CR Midnight Smoker BBQ. Back in December, the popular BBQ joint revealed that they would be moving into the building at 301 F Ave NW in Cedar Rapids, which was most recently the home of Cedar River Landing. The interior of the restaurant has yet to open to diners, but CR Midnight Smoker has begun serving their food out of food truck in the parking lot on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or until they sell out). They will continue to do that until the actual restaurant is ready to open. You can follow the official Facebook page for the latest updates HERE.
The second NewBo business to announce its relocation recently was the Full Bowl. The Full Bowl had its last day in business back in late December, then announced in January that they would be moving to 120 10th Ave SE, the former home of Delia's Baked Goods. For the latest updates from the Full Bowl, follow their Facebook page HERE.
