Another NewBo City Market Restaurant is Moving to a New Building

We're happy to report that an eatery from NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids is opening its very own restaurant! The Full Bowl is moving a couple of streets over and plans to begin welcoming customers again in just a few weeks.

Back on December 10th, the Full Bowl announced on Facebook that December would be their final month over at NewBo City Market. At the time, owner Tim Salis said that he was in the process of looking for a new space, but that nothing was set in stone. The post reads:

"While there are many vacant spaces that would be suitable for a restaurant, my personal needs make most spaces unviable for The Full Bowl. I am hopeful about our future plans to reopen elsewhere in the early part of the new year, but we will definitely be closed to begin January 2025. I will share as many details as I can when things are more certain!"

Just yesterday (January 10th), the Full Bowl shared an article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette that revealed that they officially have a new location for the restaurant! It's at 120 10th Ave SE, which was most recently the home of Delia's Baked Goods. Delia's closed its doors back on November 1st after only a year in business.

The Full Bowl serves all sorts of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, including rice bowls, acai bowls, soup, baked goods, and house-made beverages. Their logo says that everything is "obsessively made from scratch." The Gazette reports that the Full Bowl will retain the "core" of their current menu, but plans to include breakfast items and other new additions in the future. The plan is to open sometime in February.

This is the second time in recent months that a restaurant from NewBo City Market has announced a new location. Just before Christmas, CR Midnight Smoker BBQ revealed that they would be taking over the former home of Cedar River Landing at 301 F Ave NW in Cedar Rapids. CRL closed on Christmas Day.

If you're wondering if anything new is opening over at NewBo City Market, the answer is YES! K.C. Cakes, which opened at the market in 2023, has decided to expand their offerings, becoming K.C. Cakes and Cajun!

Now located in the booth where CR Midnight Smoker was, K.C. Cakes & Cajun still offers their delicious cupcakes, cookies, cheesecake, and other baked goods, but now they also offer some classic Cajun dishes. Some of the options are red beans & rice, jambalaya, cornbread, gumbo, and biscuits & gravy.
