Everything New at Iowa’s Adventureland & Adventure Bay in 2025

Adventureland and Adventure Bay in Altoona are set to open in the second half of May! Courtesy of the 'What's New' and 'Events & Entertainment' pages on Adventureland's website, here's what you need to know ahead of the 2025 season.

When Does the Park Open?

Opening Day for Adventureland is Saturday, May 17th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Opening Day for Adventure Bay is one week later, Saturday, May 24th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both parks will only be open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays for the remainder of May, and then in June, the parks will be open daily. What Are Some of the New Attractions in 2025?

There doesn't appear to be any new rides at Adventureland in 2025, but there has been an upgrade to one of the waterslides at Adventure Bay! According to the website, Typhoon has been transformed into Hyperlight, "an immersive water slide experience with vivid light and dynamic sound."

There are also two new stunt shows coming this season! The first is called 'Nerveless Nocks Jetpack Water Circus,' and it features Jetpack and Jetski pilots soaring "40 feet above a massive 40,000-gallon Aqua Drome, performing jaw-dropping aerial stunts that will leave you breathless."

The second is the 'Off Axis Stunt Show.' Here's what the website has to say about that one:

"Watch in awe as elite athletes, including World Champions and viral superstars from YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, showcase their incredible skills in three breathtaking acts: Trampwall, BMX, and Teeterboard."

What New Events Does Adventureland Have on Their Schedule?

In addition to the new slide and stunt shows, there are also some new events for 2025! The list includes:

• Father’s Day Flop
  • Sunday, June 15th (Father's Day)
  • Dads can compete in a belly flop contest in front of a panel of judges for a chance to win gift cards to Prairie Meadows
• Bacon & Brews
  • Fridays in June
  • Oink’s will host live bands and serve bacon, new food creations, and beer - band lineup TBA
• Neighbor Days
  • August 2nd through 22nd
  • Kids will be able to meet characters from the PBS KIDS shows Donkey Hodie, Alma’s Way, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood

What Events Will Be Returning?

Some of the big annual events that will return in 2025 include:

• Ben Ulin’s Magic & Comedy Show - Daily shows at Sam Adam's Saloon at 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.
• Storm the Park 5k - Saturday, June 28th
• 4th of July Fireworks - Friday, July 4th
• Drones Over Adventureland (3-D Drone Show) - August 15th through 17th
• Oktoberfest - Saturday, September 13th from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Phantom Fall Fest - October 2025

What's New For Season Passholders?

If you're a 2025 Season Passholder at Adventureland, there's a new add-on you can purchase called the All Season Dining Pass. Passholders will get two free meals during each visit to the park, which includes an entrée and a side at "select food stands." Drinks are not included, and after you claim your first meal of the day, there is a 4-hour waiting period before you can claim your second meal. The meals can also be substituted for snacks, like soft pretzels or churros. The All Season Dining Pass is $119.99. You can read more about it HERE.
