Yes, you read that right... a puppy had to get braces, and the result is adorable.

Wesley the 6-month-old golden retriever was having some serious teething issues. His adult teeth started growing in all funky, which was making it difficult for him to close his mouth fully. Wesley's human, Michigan-native Molly Moore, told Buzzfeed:

“He wasn’t playing with his toys and he was losing weight. It was very worrying for me, and we needed to do something for him to be pain free and live a happy puppy life.”

Coincidentally, Molly's dad Jim Moore happens to be a veterinarian, and he specializes in dentistry. His solution is unusual, but effective: puppy braces. Not surprisingly, this specific technique isn't used very often. Dr. Moore says he only does it around four times a year, and he NEVER does it for aesthetic reasons. Wesley will only need to wear his braces for a few weeks, and they don't bother him one bit! He's still a happy little guy (as you can see in the photo below).

When people hear that Dr. Moore is a "doggie dentist," they immediately say things like: "What? Does he put braces on...
