Iowa Women's Team Losing Player to the Transfer Portal

One of the main pieces of Jan Jensen's Iowa Hawkeye women's basketball team has entered the transfer portal.

Hawk Central and other sources report that freshman guard Aaliyah Guyton has entered the transfer portal. Guyton was a top 100 prospect in the 2024 class for Iowa.

Guyton entered her freshman year at Iowa coming off a torn ACL she suffered during her senior year of high school. She became a main piece in coach Jan Jensen's Iowa rotation averaging over 16 minutes per game and 4.7 points per game according to Hawk Central.

After a strong start, Guyton's numbers slumped during Iowa's final 13 games. The freshman shot just 25% from the field and only 22% from three-point range according to Hawk Central. She also committed 24 turnovers during that same stretch. Assuming Guyton doesn't remove her name from the portal the Iowa women's basketball team will have three open scholarships to work with for next season.
