Former Hawkeye Molly Davis Finds Her New Basketball Home
There were many reasons that Molly Davis was loved by Iowa women's basketball fans. She was a hard worker. A deadly accurate shooter. And she rocked that headband! The former Iowa basketball player now has a new home and a new chapter in her basketball journey.
Hawk Central reports that Davis has been named a graduate assistant at the University of Evansville. She'll join the women's basketball staff at the school after completing her playing career at Central Michigan and the University of Iowa. Evansville head coach Robyn Scherr-Wells knew Davis would be a great fit because of her high basketball IQ, and that she is a hard worker.
Davis was a double-digit scorer at Central Michigan averaging 14 points per game. She transferred to Iowa and became a crucial member of a team that went to back-to-back National Title games. Davis started 27 games her senior year and averaged nearly 6 points per game while becoming a fan favorite, according to Hawk Central.
Sadly, her senior season was cut short as Davis suffered a knee injury during the regular season finale against Ohio State on Senior Day. She made a late cameo in the final seconds of Iowa's loss to South Carolina in the National Championship game.
Congratulations Molly on your new position! You're forever a favorite Hawkeye!
