Get ready to do some shopping!
Next weekend, May 27th and 28th, the Good Makers Market will return to the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton. The market only happens twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. If you're not familiar with the event, the Facebook page reads:
"Eastern Iowa's hippest market! Shop the best hand picked vendors from around the Midwest. Here you'll find handmade artisan goods, score some amazing vintage, shop our on trend mobile boutiques, eat from our delicious food trucks and listen to local live music."
The spring Good Makers Market is set to have over 130 vendors from across the Midwest, and the organizers have been sharing some of those vendors on the Facebook event page for the past few months. Some of the items you can expect to see include:
- Macramé Art
- Leather Goods
- Handmade Jewelry
- Unique Clothing
- Crochet Goods
- Artisan Soaps
- Antiques/Vintage Items
- Skincare Items
- Baby Clothes/Accessories
- Handcrafted Signs
- Art/Home Decor
Food vendors will be on hand, a vintage camper bar where you can order cocktails will be present, local musicians will be playing live music, and there will even be meet and greets with the famous llamas from Prairie Patch Farm in Cedar Rapids! There's a little something for everyone at the spring Good Makers Market.
The hours for the May Good Makers Market are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27th and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 28th. The first 100 shoppers on both Friday and Saturday will receive a free Good Makers Market tote bag. Admission is $5 per person, with kids 12 and under admitted for free. I went to the Good Makers Market for the first time last fall and it was fantastic! There was a huge variety of vendors and everything was so well organized. I ended up spending WAY more than I planned, but it was well worth it, because I found an amazing vintage trunk for my living room (the pumpkin and blanket were also market purchases):
This year's fall market is scheduled for September 2nd and 3rd.
