Eastern Iowa’s ‘Hippest’ Vendor Market is Happening This Weekend
The first Good Makers Market of 2026 in on the way this weekend!
What's the Good Makers Market?
The Good Makers Market is a biannual market consisting of hand-picked vendors from across the Midwest. It got its start back in 2016, and has continued to grow bigger and more popular each year since.
At the spring 2026 market, there will be over 130 vendors present, plus nearly 20 food and beverage trucks/vendors. You'll find clothing, jewelry, accessories, candles, bath & body products, home décor, antiques, pet supplies, furniture... even a tattoo booth! As far as food goes, some of your options include pizza, Mexican food, acai bowls, BBQ, cookies, ice cream, sandwiches, and popcorn. Check out a full list of vendors HERE.
In addition to the market vendors and food trucks, the Good Makers Market also features live music on two different stages. You can check out the Friday and Saturday artist lineup on the Facebook page HERE.
Where/When Is It?
The Good Makers Market takes place at the Cedar County Fairgrounds in Tipton this Friday and Saturday. Its held twice every year, always over Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Here are this weekend's hours:
- Friday, May 22nd from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, May 23rd from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you're an early bird, the first 100 shoppers on both Friday and Saturday get a free swag bag. Best of luck, though! I've been to the majority of the markets over the past few years, arriving at most of them before the gates open, and I've only managed to snag one once. People love free stuff!
How Much Does it Cost to Get In?
Admission into the Good Makers Market is $10 for ages 15+, and on-site parking is free. Tickets are not sold in advance and are only available at the gate.
What Else Should I Know?
Like most other markets, paying with cash is definitely good. But, many vendors also accept cards or services like Venmo. It might also be helpful to have something to carry your purchases. I like to bring my big, reusable, farmers market bag! I've never left without filling it up...
The Good Makers Market is dog-friendly, as long as your dog is leashed and you clean up after them. But, It's also important to note that this is a BUSY market. You can expect large crowds during peak business hours, especially on Saturday. And, you'll be doing a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must.
While most of the market happens outdoors, there are a couple of buildings that house vendors. But, the show goes on rain or shine, so dress accordingly! For the latest updates about this weekend's event, check out the official Facebook page HERE.
Oh, and don't forget to stop by and say hi to the llamas from Prairie Patch Farm! They're SO CUTE.
