This morning, the Iowa Pork Producers announced the 2020 finalists for Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest, and we're happy to report that a popular Cedar Rapids restaurant made the cut!

The Blind Pig, located at 3325 Center Point Rd NE in Cedar Rapids, is among this year's five finalists, and I don't think anyone can argue that they aren't deserving! Just look at some of the photos people have posted on Instagram:

The rest of this year's finalists include:

According to the official press release, the Pork Producers received 4,501 nominations for 390 different establishments for this year's contest, which is extra important in 2020. Kelsey Sutter, the IPPA Marketing and Programs Director said:

"It is more important than ever to support our locally owned restaurants and we believe that continuing our annual Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest will help encourage patrons to visit their favorite establishments and especially the Top 5 finalists in the state."

The month of October is Pork Month, so the first and second place winners will be announced in just a few weeks. The first place restaurant will be awarded $500, plus a plaque and a banner.

I don't know about you, but I'm really hoping The Blind Pig will be named this year's winner! It's easily one of my favorite restaurants in Cedar Rapids. I've never had their tenderloin, but I'm obsessed with their nachos! I guess I know what I'll be ordering the next time I stop in...
