98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Salutes Jason White

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an eastern Iowa First Responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Jason White, who was nominated by Brittany Nelson! Her entry reads:

"Jason is a fearless leader with the Delaware County Sheriff's Department. But my story is a bit more personal. He is also my parents' neighbor. When my mom was going through cancer treatments he was always the first one to the house when we had to call for emergency help, whether he was on duty or not. I watched as he helped facilitate my mom's care with the paramedics in my parents' living room. And after my mom passed away, him and his wife brought countless dinners, treats and support to my dad. I honestly don't know what we would have done without him."
