98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Chelsea Owens

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Chelsea Owens who was nominated by Brenda Kral. The entry reads;

Chelsea works full-time at Johnson Co Ambulance Service and PT at Washington Co Ambulance Service. She also volunteers with her local Wellman Ambulance Service. She became an EMT when her boyfriend wanted to take the class. Fell in love it and changed her major from nursing to paramedic. (now married to that BF and he is the assistant fire Chief at Wellman Fire Dept). She is a Paramedic Training Officer and CPR Instructor. Chelsea is such a caring and giving person. She knows she sees her patients in one of their darkest times and tries to make each one of them feel safe. Chelsea does all of this while being an amazing mom to two littles.
