SaPaDaPaSo Parade Has Come A Long Way in 40 Years

The first St. Patrick's day parade in Cedar Rapids was 5 minutes long. The next year, it doubled in length to 10 minutes! Flash forward some 40 years later and today's SaPaDaPaSo parade will last well in excess of an hour and a half! The parade has come along way since it's inception in 1976. Today's parade will follow the traditional downtown parade route along 2nd and 3rd avenues. Parking will be prohibitied along the route beginning at noon. The parade itself starts at 1pm.
