Recently, Julie and I decided we needed to re-do the retaining wall surrounding one of the flower beds in our backyard. It was no longer anywhere close to level and we'd also decided it was wider than necessary. It seemed like a good idea.

Saturday afternoon, we tore out the old retaining wall. The blocks above are only a fraction of what we removed.  We got everything taken out and plastic down just before one of Saturday's short monsoon's hit.  Done for day number one.

Sunday morning, we drug ourselves outside to face the task at hand. More than seven hours later, we were about half done. I should listen to whatever part of my brain is better with judgment. The lobe I'm listening to now is usually wrong.
