The NASCAR CampingWorld.com 500 at the Talladega Speedway had all the makings for an exciting finish. Instead, Drivers & Fans were left fuming at the finish.

Here's the set-up and it all started early last week. NASCAR ruled that only one attempt would be made at a green-white-checkered finish. WHAT??? WHY??? This is what gets me, we hear this weekly that "these are the 43 Greatest Drivers in the World". Well, if your so great, race till the end. Who cares how many times it takes to get a "green-white-checkered finish", just finish the race!!! How is it that almost every small track in America on the weekends or weekdays can get a green-white-checkered finish but NASCAR can't?

Okay, back to the race. Jamie McMurray starts losing fluids from his engine 5 laps from the end. Here's another idea NASCAR... the caution laps for the last 10 laps of the race don't count. Once again, big specials at almost every small track in America do it this way!!!

So now after the track is cleaned up, we're down to a green-white-checkered finish. Well as they do on restarts, cars get stacked up and wrecks occur. This happened on the first attempt of the green-white-checkered finish BUT... the cars had not crossed the start finish line so NASCAR rules this wasn't an official green-white-checkered start. Thank goodness, we would hate to have a race finish this way.

So now we get to the actual finish. But before we go much further we must explain that Chase Driver Kevin Harvick is limping around on a motor that's down a cylinder or two. If this race does go green-white-checkered to the end, Harvick will more than likely finish deep in the field and won't advance to the next round. At the drop of the green, Harvick tried to move out of the way and bumped the rear of Trevor Bayne's car causing the big one. You may believe that or you may believe that Harvick knew he had to do something to finish this race.

Here's what the other Drivers thought of Harvick getting into Trevor Bayne. First we'll quote Trevor Bayne....“That’s a crappy way for Harvick to have to get in the Chase is to wreck somebody – what I believe to be on purpose – maybe it wasn’t.” “The restart before that he had engine problems and got out of the way. I think he realized if the caution came out he was going to be fine, so I got by and get hooked in the left rear. Harvick is a really good driver. I think he knows the limits of his car and where it’s at, so that’s why I think it was intentional.”

Denny Hamlin took it a step further..."What a joke we have a car with no motor wreck the field to end the race. Complete crap. Sorry to anyone who spent $ coming to this circus."

David Gilliland who also was caught up in the crash... "Wow. That was the champ. Not a very smart move. What a joke. Not happy"

The problem all goes back to a year ago when NASCAR decided to make a playoff system something like Football, Basketball, and Baseball combined. NASCAR... Racing is not like Football, Basketball & Baseball. You wonder why your rating continue to decline year after year. You've created this mess. Hopefully you'll realize this before the fans quit tuning in or even come to the races anymore.
