When your basketball team loses stars like Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, and Gabbie Marshall, you know you need to add some scoring to next year's team. The Iowa women's basketball team just landed a big-time scorer thanks to the transfer portal!

This could be the most important transfer addition in the coaching career of Lisa Bluder. The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that former Villanova star guard Lucy Olsen has committed to playing basketball for the University of Iowa.

The Gazette reports that Olsen will have one season of eligibility in Iowa City after playing for three seasons at Villanova. Last year, Olsen was an honorable mention All-American and was third in the nation in scoring at 23.3 points per game. The only players who scored more points were Caitlin Clark, perhaps you've heard of her, and JuJu Watkins at USC.

Olsen said she loved her time at Villanova, but told the Gazette "I wanted my final season to be somewhere that women's basketball is exploding." Welcome to Iowa, Lucy. ESPN ranked Olsen as the fifth-ranked prospect in the transfer portal. She visited Iowa City on Tuesday, and committed on Wednesday, according to the Gazette.

The Gazette reports that Olsen will be one of five seniors on next year's Iowa roster joining Sydney Affolter, Kylie Feuerbach, Addison O'Grady, and A.J. Ediger. Olsen said that she's comfortable playing the point or off the ball. Iowa fans hope she's comfortable SCORING.
