Iowa State Fair Sets New Attendance Record

Iowa State Fair set a new attendance record this year. Officials said the new attendance total for 2015 was an estimated 1,117,398 people. The old record was 1,109,150 people set in 2008.

Iowa State Fair CEO Gary Slater said part of the reason for the large numbers is the new school start agreement, which doesn't allow schools in Iowa to start classes before Aug. 23.
